@In the simulation of the methanol distillation column, on the CGCC diagram of the distillation column, the values of enthalpy deficit on several trays near the feed tray for the ideal profile curve – what exactly is enthalpy deficit? How should a negative enthalpy deficit be understood?
The reference values for enthalpy vary for each type of software; therefore, it’s meaningless to consider the enthalpy value at just one state. What matters is the difference in enthalpy between two states. You can choose any stream to examine – in many cases the value will be negative. As long as the load is within normal limits, that’s sufficient
