A problem was encountered during the design for crude oil unloading: the crude oil unloading station is equipped with 4 unloading ports in total, and due to the high viscosity of the crude oil, steam purging pipelines were installed. A main steam pipe is located 3.7 meters above the top of each oil discharge port, with a steam branch pipe leading from the top of each individual oil discharge port. So, is it necessary to install a steam trap at the end of the main steam pipe?
If heating is required, use steam at the end of the pipeline to provide heat; if heating is not needed, it is advisable to install a tee at the end, connected by valves. One of them is connected to the main steam, with one end connected to the steam trap; the valve at the other end remains closed under normal conditions and is opened only when in use. :)
