Desulfurization, Desulfurization of Alcohols

For dry gas and liquefied gas, desulfurization is carried out first followed by desulfurization of alcohols – what is the reason for this sequence? Can it be done the other way around? Desulfurize the alcohol first or then desulfurize?

Hydrogen peroxide alkaline solution containing a catalyst (sulfonated cobalt phthalocyanine) is used for thiol removal, while ethanolamine solution is used for desulfurization. Conversely, if desulfurization of the alcohol is done first, then desulfurization is not necessary, but the amount of alkaline slag generated becomes too large, which is not economical. ——Desulfurization mainly involves the removal of hydrogen sulfide.
