This is my first time dealing with storage tanks made of fiberglass reinforced plastic. I’m seeking advice from those who are more experienced in this area. I need to design a fiberglass reinforced plastic tank for storing brine, with a flat bottom and a conical lid; the inner diameter is 3 meters and the height is 13 meters. The tank will operate under normal temperature and pressure conditions. What thickness should I choose for the tank walls? Is the thickness of the barrel wall designed in segments? Is a reinforcement bar needed? How should the reinforcement bars be arranged? What thickness should be chosen for the cone tip? In accordance with HG/T20696-1999 \"Design Specifications for Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic Chemical Equipment\" and HG/T21504.1-1992 \"Standard Series of Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic Storage Tanks (VN0.5m3–VN100m3)\\", the bottom of the tank varies slightly; how should the bottom and top of the tank be connected? Reinforcement bars need to be installed; these bars are designed in two sections, the lower section being spaced slightly closer together than the upper section. The wall thickness is also designed differently for these two sections – approximately 12–16 mm in the lower part and 8–10 mm in the upper part. (I’m not in the design field.)
How is the final wall thickness of your fiberglass storage tank determined?
Now, for FRP tanks, the wall thickness should be calculated based on standards and documented in a calculation report. If no calculation sheet is provided, the design/construction party is being lazy, and the owner will hold them accountable! ! ! Haha
