Water injection at the top of the stripping tower issue

Friends, there is a water injection process at the top of the diesel hydrodesulfurization stripper. After the deoxygenated water reaches the top of the tower, it splits into two streams: one is injected into the overhead extraction line, while the other is injected onto one of the tray levels. The second stream of water injection has never been used – what is the reason for this design?
If salt builds up on the trays, it can be used to clean the tower.
