Valve code identification

Dear masters, I would like to ask what GM and ST mean when they are marked next to valves in a PID diagram The pressure class of the pipeline is 1500 bl; GM is used at the gate valve, while ST is used at the check valve. Thank you all! ! !

This is indeed not a medium; it should represent some property or characteristic of the valve.

Each design firm has its own design specifications (such as valve codes, material codes, etc.). Your question is likely about the valve code; a description of this code should be provided on the first page of the PID diagram. For your reference
