Thermal resistor is submerged in water; the thermometer gives inaccurate readings. Help!

Water entered the sheath of the thermistor thermometer, causing it to display 0°C; normal readings were obtained after replacing the thermistor. The thermistor is of the PT1000 type; after water entered it, its resistance was measured at 500 ohms. The next day, this resistance increased gradually to 900 ohms. Even after it was reinstalled in the thermometer, it still indicated 0°C. What could be the reason for this? Can this thermistor still be repaired for further use? Thank you!

How much is one 2-meter long PT1000 (Grade B) wire? What I mainly want to ask is the reason and whether it can be fixed? Thank you
Thermoresistors that fail the calibration should be replaced.
When water flows in, it’s as if the resistance is short-circuited; a resistance value of zero is correct.
It’s simple: contact your supplier. He can repair it for you, but generally, when a thermal resistor is damaged, it’s replaced rather than repaired.

Measure after drying the thermistor; if that doesn’t work, replace it with another one.
