Our company produces sulfuric acid from 200,000 tons per year of sulfur concentrate; the roasting area is 42.3 square meters, the slag discharge height is 1.2 meters, and the roasting temperature is 980 degrees. The furnace has been in operation for over two years, yet it has been malfunctioning continuously. Within a month of operation, the pressure at the bottom of the furnace rises to around 16 kPa. Sometimes scabs form on the furnace bottom, and at other times the furnace cannot function properly, resulting in its shutdown. There are many small balls made of pyrite at the bottom of the furnace; those larger ones have a diameter of about 10 mm, while the smaller ones are 5–6 mm in diameter. Normally, these small balls (5–6 mm in size) are discharged via the slag removal belt. We earnestly request that experts analyze the reasons for this issue. Urgent! Urgent! Urgent!
For 200,000 tons of sulfur concentrate, it’s not necessary to maintain such a high roasting temperature; generally, it’s between 800-850. Could it be that the heat exchange area of the water wall is insufficient? It is possible that the wind cap was not filled without gaps, resulting in uneven boiling. The mesh size of the ore and its moisture content are also important. Factors such as whether the raw material has been filtered through a vibrating screen or gone through a drying furnace before use can also contribute to uneven particle size of the ore. Next time the furnace is overhauled and the air nozzles are replaced, the diameter of these nozzles is usually 3.8; this increases the amount of air supplied at the bottom. The amount of air directed to the secondary circuit should be set at 15% of the total air flow. The pressure at the bottom should be increased slightly to match the pressure level of the diluter. If there is a third air supply option, it can be used to supplement the air flow. In short, there are many reasons; specific judgment requires you to provide the relevant parameters. ;There are many experts on HaiChuan. Please give me a score – as long as what I say doesn’t mislead people, that’s fine. Thank you.
That’s right; with a boiling furnace, it’s necessary to ensure the quality of the ore, otherwise the air caps can easily get clogged
