After entering the distillation tower and passing through the pressure reducing valve, the temperature of the two streams of material drops. Why is this?
After passing through the pressure reducing valve, the pressure decreases, the boiling point of the material drops, resulting in extensive vaporization and evaporation that carries away heat energy, thus causing the temperature to drop.
