The company’s wastewater contains high levels of calcium and chloride ions; the pH value of the water entering and leaving the biological tank is between 6 and 7. Now, it is desired to raise the pH value in the aeration tank to 8. What chemical agents would be suitable for this purpose? Will adding NaOH cause calcium ions to form calcium hydroxide precipitate?
