The company specializes in coal tar process packages; I work in the process engineering field and have been there for 8 years. I have an annual salary contract with the company, and my salary is around 30,000 yuan, paid at the end of the year. Some time ago, the subsidiary was not performing well, so many employees were laid off; almost everyone except those in the production department was dismissed. Since our salaries were high, management was afraid of having to pay compensation, so we were kept on. But after that, the department head had various conversations, saying that the company was in a poor state and not doing well financially; those of you with experience should check if there are any opportunities elsewhere, and if so, consider taking the chance to leave! I’m also shy; seeing the state of the company, and since everyone used to get along well there, I thought it was better to leave sooner. Happily, a friend got a project and asked me to help out, so I submitted my resignation! My friend joked at first, saying that since I was leaving the company with such a large compensation package, I should discuss with the company how much that amount should be I said forget it, we’re already so close! When I left the company in October, they didn’t pay me my salary either; they said they would give it to me along with the next salary payment. When I asked how the annual salary would be calculated, they told me it would be calculated based on the date of departure.
