For equipment positioning on process piping, is it the positioning based on the equipment itself?
Generally, precise equipment positioning is used when specialized equipment is installed, and piping work is carried out based on this~

What is the general layout engineering field? Who decides on the device model?
The device model is determined by the device specialists. The general layout discipline is responsible for planning the overall arrangement; oh, is this on land? Then there is no need to consider the position of the center of gravity.
The workflow is as follows: 1. The process engineering team provides a schematic diagram of the equipment and sends the equipment data sheet to the equipment and piping engineering teams; 2. The equipment specialty is responsible for the design of the equipment itself, while the piping specialty provides the equipment specialty with information regarding the location of pipe connections and the height of the equipment pedestals. It also supplies the civil engineering specialty with the elevation values for the equipment foundations. Additionally, the piping specialty prepares the plan layout of the equipment, that is, the exact positioning of the equipment within the installation. The selection of forming equipment or standard equipment is generally based on data parameters or models provided by the process engineering team, such as for standard heat exchangers. Non-standard equipment requires analysis on a case-by-case basis.

It’s difficult to give a general answer to this; generally, it is considered in relation to the pump’s NPSHr. Another factor is the elevation of the lowest platform, which must be at least 2200 mm above the ground level, in addition to other requirements as well. This has a lot to do with habit or experience.
