Every year during the winter months, our company faces significant problems with instruments; often, freezing of pressures, temperatures, level gauges, and other related instruments leads to safety incidents such as system shutdowns or a significant reduction in production capacity. Do any of you experts have any suggestions?
Firstly, when selecting instruments, it is important to choose level gauges that are of the double-flange diaphragm type or capacitive type. When installing pressure transmitters, try to keep the length of the pressure conduit as short as possible; of course, to resolve this issue completely, heat tracing is also required.

Insulation of instruments is very important: I have used an effective method – installing isolation tanks near the pressure tapping points of level and differential pressure transmitters, and filling these tanks with different isolation fluids in winter and summer； It can solve problems quite well.
