Hello everyone, I am involved in the bidding process for polymerization reactors in a PVC project. We require that these reactors have a design lifespan of 20 years, but either the bid documents do not address this requirement or they specify only a lifespan of 10 years. I would like to know how many years your companies’ polymerization reactors have been in use and what their design lifespan is. Thank you all. It’s my first time working on a PVC project, so I don’t know much about it.
At the moment, there are a few companies that use reactors with a capacity of 10 years; those with a capacity of over 20 years have already switched to polymerization reactors. Reactors with a capacity of 13 cubic meters or 30 cubic meters are now rarely used
The Jinhua 70m3 polymerization reactor has passed the inspection tests, and it is now in use for 26 years. The original Beierhua 105m3 polymerization reactor, which was used by Hubei Yihua, has also been in use for nearly 20 years. To the best of my knowledge, large polymerization reactors that have been in use for around 20 years are all imported equipment from abroad.
Large polymerization reactors (over 70M) are all over 20 years old
Domestically produced large polymerization reactors of 100 m3 or larger have seen rapid development since 2000; before that time, most such large reactors were imported, with many of them manufactured in Japan. With the rapid development of the PVC industry over the past 10 years, the technology for manufacturing PVC polymerization reactors has also advanced swiftly in China (through cooperation between domestic reactor manufacturers and those holding patent technologies, as well as foreign reactor manufacturers), and large-scale polymerization reactors are now widely used across the country.
