20 tons of sludge are dried per hour through steam drying, using the hollow tube and external sleeve of a spiral dryer. Steam at 1.1 MP and 310°C; the sludge is dried from 65% to 40%. Could someone please calculate how much steam is required per hour? What is the formula used for this calculation? The temperature is 21 degrees. Also, how to choose a spiral dryer? Specific algorithm: Heat provided by steam = Heat absorbed for raising the temperature of the sludge + Heat absorbed for vaporizing the water in the sludge; thus, the steam consumption can be calculated. As for the dryer options, just provide the load and process parameters to the manufacturer and ask them to help select the appropriate model
