Catalysts from different manufacturers, even of the same brand, may not differ much, but there can still be differences. Some hydrogenation catalysts do not require sulfidation and passivation, such as precious metal catalysts. The temperature conditions are the same as well – some are low and some are high. The premise for the standard answer to this question is that a single device must be used!
