What is the purpose of the partition installed at the bottom of the thermal regeneration tower?
Separate the ones with high moisture content from those with lower moisture content after regeneration; send the former to the methanol-water separation tower, and send the regenerated methanol suitable for use to the top of the absorption tower.
This is common in the Lind process; theoretically, it is mainly due to the higher temperature of the lean methanol at the bottom of the thermal regeneration tower (on the side adjacent to the reboiler), which is the area with more impurities, making it easier to extract and filter out these impurities
It is mainly to protect the tube bundle of the shell-and-tube heat exchanger
