There’s no need to use foreign PDH systems; domestic technology is just as good as foreign one. There is one set from Qilu Institute and twelve sets from Shanghai Hetu. Many projects are planned to be launched soon. It’s better to trust local solutions rather than relying on foreigners
The process developed by Lumas involves the mixed dehydrogenation of propane and butane; it was the first such system of its kind in China, installed in Shenchi. Later, a design institute sold this system, which led to legal actions being taken against them. This process isn’t that remarkable – it seems that just because the name Lumas is impressive, the products made using it must also be excellent. In this process, two separate reactors are used in parallel, which makes coking a problem. Everyone is starting to be envious of this technique, and they’re all showing off
I’m not sure if you’ve made a decision yet. Currently, the dominant production process in China is UOP’s OLEDLEX process, which accounts for over 80% of all uses; the remainder is handled by LUMMUS. If you’d like to know more details, we can discuss it further – we specialize in UOP’s moving-bed technology.
We also use UOP’s process, but there are some minor issues. The reason is that the issue has not been properly understood domestically; if there is significant pipeline vibration, the noise level is extremely high!
