What are the main components of COD in coking wastewater? After ammonia evaporation, the COD level remains around 4500. The COD of the remaining ammonia water entering the tower is generally between 6000 and 6500. I’m not sure what the problem is (Our company requires that the ammonia-vapour wastewater be below 3500.)
COD is composed of suspended solids, organic matter, etc.; the ammonia content in ammonia-evaporation wastewater depends on the location where alkali is added, and the current methods used in China are incorrect. Just take a look at the foreigners’ drawings and you’ll understand.

OP, does your company not have any testing parameters for recycled ammonia water on a regular basis? Are there any specific figures? How much oil and suspended solids are present in ammonia water? If not, then check the cleanliness of the circulating ammonia water; the problem is likely to lie with the ammonia water, or it could be that there are large fluctuations in the quality of your coal.
Upstairs, thank you! Our facility has not conducted any tests on the circulating ammonia water or the residual ammonia water. The COD level of this residual ammonia water is around 7000 before and after filtration. Strangely enough, the COD level is generally higher (about 80%) after filtration, yet it is visibly clearer after filtration. This phenomenon occurs in both systems, and it remains a mystery to us
