Can the cooling water in a plate heat exchanger enter from the top and exit from the bottom?

The factory has received a set of station equipment; the heat exchanger used is a plate-type heat exchanger. However, the cooling medium flows in from below and out from above, while the cooling water flows in from above and out from below. We contacted the manufacturer, who stated that there is no problem with this arrangement. In all the cooling devices we have dealt with before, the cooling water flowed in from below and out from above; it’s the first time we see a situation where it flows in from above and out from below. Is this also acceptable?
It seems there’s no problem; our company’s oil cooler works the same way.
Heat exchange can be countercurrent or co-current; it’s fine
