The heat-shrinkable waterproof cap is made of polyethylene material that has been treated with high-energy ion radiation; it has a cap-like shape and is formed by expanding polyethylene tubing and then covering it with a layer of hot-melt adhesive film. This type of waterproof cap possesses high mechanical strength, resistance to aging, resistance to environmental stress cracking, as well as excellent sealing properties, allowing it to have a long service life. It is suitable for waterproofing and protecting the ends of polyurethane foam insulation pipes of various sizes. Construction method: 1. Put a heat-shrinkable waterproof cap on the end of the steel pipe, remove any foam powder and rust it to ST3 grade; clean oily areas with sandpaper. 2. Clean and roughen the area where the larger end of the heat-shrinkable waterproof cap overlaps the jacket. 3. Preheat the steel pipe and the roughened jacket section. (The preheating temperature should reach 50°C without compromising the original anti-corrosion layer.) 4. Put on the heat-shrinkable waterproof cap. 5. Use a heater to evenly heat and shrink the outer part of the heat-shrinkable waterproof cap in a circumferential direction, until the hot melt adhesive overflows. (If the temperature is high and slipping occurs when heating the tip, a wet towel can be placed over it.) 6. The end of the heat-shrinkable waterproof cap (where it attaches to the foam) must not be overheated. 7. Heat the small end of the heat-shrinkable waterproof cap until the hot melt adhesive overflows. After the contraction is complete, roll the waterproof cap with a rolling pin once. 8. After construction, there should be no bubbles, no surface carbonization, and no obvious wrinkles; glue should overflow at all edges to ensure a strong bond.
