≤Safety valve with a weight of 64 kg; set pressure: 39.6 kg. It has been calibrated by a qualified institution, which issued a calibration report confirming its compliance. After installation and commissioning, it was found that the safety valve was still leaking. Is this a problem with the manufacturer or with the calibration unit? What should be done?
This is probably a manufacturing issue; the verification company is irresponsible. There is no verification at all; they just charge money.
I ran into another issue as well, where it was set to 39. 7kgf, but it doesn’t jump at the site; it jumps again when returned to the testing platform. It doesn’t react at the site, which is really frustrating
It might be that the testing medium and temperature do not match the operating conditions
I encounter such problems quite often here; we test over 300 safety valves at a time, and there are always a few of them that do not trigger during online testing, but do trigger when installed on the equipment. It took several back-and-forth attempts. Later, based on the design pressure of the equipment, the set pressure can be appropriately increased.
