May combustion-supporting substances (such as hydrogen peroxide) and flammable substances (such as organic materials) be stored in the same room within the factory building? What is the basis?
Flammable liquids are not only flammable in themselves but also mostly possess certain toxicity. Substances such as methanol, benzene, and carbon disulfide should, in principle, be stored separately. However, when storage together with other types of hazardous materials is necessary due to various constraints, the following principles must be followed: 1. It shall not be stored together with Class A self-igniting materials, and it should also be kept separate from Class B self-igniting materials. Because self-igniting items can burn on their own. 2. It must not be stored together with corrosive substances such as bromine, hydrogen peroxide, and strong acids like nitric acid. Even when the amounts are small, it should still be stored separately, with a distance of at least 2 meters between them. This is because strong acids such as bromine, hydrogen peroxide, and nitric acid all possess strong oxidizing properties. 3. Flammable liquids that are water-containing, as well as those that need to be stored or transported with water, must not be stored together with materials that are flammable when exposed to moisture
