Issues regarding the water in evaporative air coolers

Our company has over 10 sets of evaporative air coolers, which perform very well. It’s the water issue – how did everyone solve it? We currently have a water treatment system designed specifically for treating water. However, over time, due to the high evaporation rate of the air coolers, the water becomes highly concentrated; currently, we rely on large amounts of water drainage and replacement to maintain water quality. Do anyone have any good suggestions? Sharing it here.
Evaporative air coolers utilize heat exchange through the contact between water and air; evaporation and splashing are inevitable, and the amount of water will certainly decrease. However, various methods can be used to reduce the amount of splashing and to ensure proper recovery of the water.
Is it secondary ion membrane osmosis? The cost of desalinated water is too high.
It is mainly evaporation; splashing also occurs, and it is difficult to control and recover.
High evaporation rates occur at high temperatures; have you considered increasing the flow rate and the heat exchange area? The quality of the water recovered is not up to standard, so it’s better to use fresh water instead. I’ve seen small evaporators equipped with mesh covers, where steam is cooled and condensed for recovery, but the efficiency of this approach seems to be low
The problem has been basically resolved now. After wastewater treatment, the company has installed a reverse osmosis system for the discharged water; it can produce about 25 tons per hour, and the various quality parameters of the water are quite good. This amount is sufficient for use. The water that was used was also recycled, enabling its reuse and achieving two goals at once.
