Selection of a gas compressor: flow rate of 30 m3/min, inlet pressure of 0.05 MPa, outlet pressure of 1.35 MPa; the molecular weight of the gas is assumed to be 30. A centrifugal compressor would be suitable, but since the flow rate is too low, a screw compressor is more appropriate. If the gas is dirty, the machine may vibrate significantly; in such cases, a reciprocating compressor is a better choice, although its operating costs are higher. Previously, 1 million tons of coking used centrifuges, while now 400,000 tons use reciprocating compressors
Following the previous approach, two reciprocating compressors were used, one in operation and one as a backup. The current process recommendation is to use a small centrifuge; it’s best to have the manufacturer suggest the appropriate model and specifications
The flow rate is too low; it seems that only reciprocating pumps are suitable.
