Question – Material for pipes used in connecting cryogenic saline equipment

This post was last edited by Sammy_Wang on 2016-9-5 09:24. Experts, is it okay to use 304 stainless steel pipes for connecting the refrigerated saline equipment, or should carbon steel pipes be used instead?
Use carbon steel; if that doesn’t work, internal anti-corrosion measures can be added. If the chloride content is too high, 304 won’t work.
It’s all installed now, so I’ll just use it for now :(

The refrigerant we use is a calcium chloride solution, and the condenser is made of 304 material; it has been in use for almost 16 years now with no signs of corrosion or perforation – it seems to be in good condition.
