Can there be only 1 intermediate storage tank, with feeding and discharging taking place on the same side? What’s the impact?
This is okay, right? Many projects work this way, especially in the intermediate tank areas for static equipment
Based on the process requirements (such as verifying the tank volume by calculating the residence time) and the properties of the material, it is feasible to install one tank in the intermediate storage tank of the facility, with simultaneous inlet and outlet operations; the placement of the inlet and outlet ports depends on the properties of the material and the process requirements.
If material is continuously fed in and discharged out over a long period, it is recommended to use two or more storage tanks. 1. For easy maintenance. 2. Can be used as a backup in emergency situations. 3. Provides some time for it to remain stationary. Of course, if it’s only for temporary use with simultaneous entry and exit, there’s no major issue.
If it’s not good, it can’t be sealed for analysis.
Intermediate storage tanks are usually dual, to facilitate switching and provide mutual backup.
