I posted a thread the day before yesterday, but no one offered any support. I’m not sure if it’s because I asked too many questions or what else. Now I’m starting a new thread here, wanting to ask just one question; I hope those who have experience can help me out. There is currently a liquid chlorine storage area with four 50-cubic-meter storage tanks, enclosed in a fiberglass factory building measuring 21.6×15 meters. An accident chlorine absorption tower needs to be installed; in the event of a leak, chlorine gas is drawn into the tower using fans and then absorbed by liquid alkali. The question now is, how to determine the air volume of this fan? The GB50019-2015 \"Code for Design of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning in Industrial Buildings\" requires emergency ventilation at 12 times per hour; however, this results in an air volume of 23,328 cubic meters per hour, which is quite high – meaning that the corresponding ventilation tower would also need to be very large. How exactly should this air volume be determined?
According to the standards, this is the required amount. I’ve seen emergency exhaust systems that consist of multiple units, each with a capacity of 60,000 cubic meters per hour; the diameter of the tower for each unit is 4 meters, and its height is around 6 meters, with the chimney having a diameter of 1.8 meters. The exhaust system designed for one of my workshops has less than 12 such units – only a little over 2
I would like to ask, what is the basis for determining 2 times in your workshop?
There is no basis for this; investing less in this way will do. At this airflow rate, ventilation between the workshop and the outside world is possible through air intake, and leaks are less likely to occur outside. This is how it can be explained to the inspection experts

The absorption tower cannot be determined based on air volume, but rather on the concentration of chlorine being absorbed.
Does this air volume not take into account the leaked chlorine?
The size of the fan should be chosen based on the amount that leaks in the event of an accident.
