For the combined operation of diesel in a vacuum distillation unit, heating to 150 degrees is required. Is it necessary to purge the tower with nitrogen before feeding in diesel?

The atmospheric and vacuum distillation process I was first involved in did not require the use of diesel for transportation, nor any nitrogen displacement; it relied on transporting the oil at cold temperatures instead.
Diesel mixing is primarily used for the treatment of heavy oil (residue). By circulating diesel, the heavy oil is dissolved, separated, and then recombined into a mixture with lower viscosity and fewer impurities (in effect, the diesel is used to dilute the heavy oil), thereby achieving favorable purging effects.
