What should we do if the crane hook rotates? III. If the hook rotates, be sure to untie the kink in the steel wire rope. So, how exactly should it be done? First, place the hook on the ground, untie the fixed end of the steel wire rope, rotate the end of the rope in the opposite direction to the twist direction of the rope strands to release torque, and then reattach the fixed end. Finally, raise the crane’s boom to its maximum elevation angle, and then repeat the process of lifting and lowering the hook several times to check the performance. This step can be repeated as many times as necessary until the hook is stable.
