What is the definition of airspeed and its scope of application?

It is the concept of reaction time, which is the flow rate of the medium in m3/h divided by the volume of the bed layer in m3.
In our reactor, there are catalyst tubes, and the reaction takes place mainly inside these tubes. Is the volume of this bed referring to the total volume of the reactor or the total volume of the catalyst tubes?
