The workshop plans to add a mass flow meter. The pipeline has a diameter of DN80, with a pressure rating of PN40; the operating pressure is ≤2.0 Mpa. The medium being used is 99.999% high-purity hydrogen gas. The mass flow meter itself has a diameter of DN25. Due to the reduction in diameter, the instantaneous flow velocity is high, and the pipeline is made of carbon steel. Moreover, mass flow meters cannot tolerate impurities such as iron particles. As a precaution, it is necessary to install a precision filter before the pipeline. Since ordinary filters are usually purchased, it’s not clear how to select the appropriate type of filter

We use many precision filters; there are precision filters in front of the liquid-phase mass flow meter, with a filtration accuracy requirement of 10μm. Gas precision filters have higher requirements, at 3–4 μm. You can simply set the requirements directly with the equipment manufacturer; tell them the filtration accuracy and gas flow rate, and filter selection becomes relatively simple.
