We plan to produce large quantities of bitumen, which we intend to gasify using coal-based hydrogen vaporizers – is there any application for such a process? Dear sailors everywhere.
The first technology introduced in our country was slag oil gasification, with three plants built in Yinchuan, Urumqi, and Zhenhai.
The engineering of partial oxidation-reduction reactions for coal, residue oil, light hydrocarbons, or natural gas – that is, the gasification process for converting hydrocarbons into syngas – is highly mature. So no matter what type of raw material you use, it will always exist in one of three forms: gas, liquid, or solid. There is no issue with the technology; of course, adjustments need to be made to certain units and equipment throughout the process to take into account the characteristics of your own raw materials. By contacting various gasification process suppliers or large design institutes, it is easy to find a suitable process.
However, the vaporizer we plan to use takes into account the high viscosity of asphalt, which can easily clog the burner. It is recommended to feed it into the coal-fired boiler at the power plant after curing. What are your thoughts?/
Without knowing your upstream processes and the properties of the asphalt, it’s hard to say. However, many local refineries first delay coking and then use petroleum coke for gasification.
If you use it as a fuel gas, carbon molecular vaporization combustion technology can achieve this goal. Rigid asphalt will be efficiently vaporized in a carbon molecule vaporization furnace (with an expected conversion rate of 98%) to produce hot gas, which is then fed into a boiler for combustion. This process is environmentally friendly and energy-efficient, with a low power consumption for the gasification combustion system.
Early slag oil gasification for hydrogen production: GE technology: Wushan Petrochemical, Zhenhai Refining & Chemical, Qilu Petrochemical. Shell technology: Lanhua, Jiujiang Petrochemical, Amano. However, due to oil prices, they have basically all stopped. Currently, Fujian United Petrochemical still uses Shell’s residue oil-based hydrogen production method; the stability of the facility is self-evident, and operating costs remain acceptable even at low oil prices.
