Let’s start by mentioning that our office has two CO2 fire extinguishers; originally, they were supposed to be hexafluoropropane fire extinguishers, and this was discovered during the safety standardization inspection. Fire extinguishers are usually placed in a corner of the office; they are only serviced by filling out forms on a monthly basis, and little attention is paid to them otherwise. The inspection department found that with regular mandatory inspections on a monthly basis, it is indeed necessary to strengthen the management of every detail.
For dry powder fire extinguishers, check the pressure regularly and sign off; replace it when it reaches the red zone. Included in the monthly safety assessment.
We don’t have that here; the unspoken rule is to put safety first, which means to run away quickly if something happens
CO2 fire extinguishers cannot be used in enclosed spaces as they can cause suffocation.
In offices, where there are computers and documents, CO2 or heptafluoropropane is generally used
No, once a fire breaks out, one can only rely on rescue and cannot save themselves. .
I’ve learned from this. I just checked, and it’s indeed a dry powder fire extinguisher. It seems that CO2 can cause suffocation in enclosed spaces.:( Usually, it’s others who do the checks; I rarely check it myself
We have dry powder fire extinguishers installed in the corridors; specific individuals are assigned responsibility for checking their condition on a regular basis. The Safety Department organizes mandatory refilling of these extinguishers. By the way, offices aren’t considered enclosed spaces, right?:o
Fire-fighting equipment may seem cumbersome in normal times, but it saves lives in critical moments. Today, the control rooms in chemical plants are all explosion-proof and sealed; empiricism is not acceptable
