LI is designed to have remote transmission; it is usually transmitted to the DCS for display. The tag number for the on-site level gauge is LG.
LI stands for level indication; it can be an on-site indication. If remote transmission is required, a horizontal line should be added below LI, with the address written beneath that line. A circle should be drawn around it, and an outer rectangle should be added outside the circle – this indicates that the signal needs to be transmitted to the DCS

HG/T20505 specifies that G stands for sight glass, meaning for observation; LG refers to on-site observation; I denotes indication; and LI means remote indication. The possibility of non-compliance cannot be ruled out; generally, containers are equipped with an on-site display, but one may not be available for remote monitoring. It is recommended that the poster check whether there are any other level gauges available; if not, an on-site indication should be used here.
