As the title suggests, to my colleagues in design firms or engineering companies who work with mechanical equipment, I’m posting this to exchange views on the approaches taken by different firms in this field, as well as to enhance everyone’s understanding of its professional development. As I believe everyone knows, the role of the mechanical equipment specialty varies from one institution to another; some places attach great importance to it, while others don’t even have this specialty at all. I hope my colleagues will share how their respective organizations handle this matter, including which department the mechanical equipment specialty falls under ； What’s the scope of the design, and so on – anything you want to say is welcome
I have to admit that the field of mechanical equipment in our institute is in a rather awkward situation – it was established relatively late, so many related devices are still under the responsibility of the process engineering department. What’s most unacceptable is that even compressors are handled by the process engineering department. Colleagues, what kind of mechanical equipment work does your organization handle?
