How should one plan for career development when starting out with an \"excessively stable\" career path?

Have there really been no cases in recent years of people joining stable and established companies and achieving success through hard work to learn from? Let’s exchange ideas together. I graduated from university in 2011 and ended up working at a coal chemical plant in a third-tier city that had been in operation for many years. The following year, the production processes at that plant became more efficient, and the production cycles continued to set records year after year; yet I felt that it had little to do with me. I don’t know either what direction to take in my career. In distress.
