The 2016 Qingmichuan China’s Most Beautiful Ancient Town Marathon was the first marathon of its kind held in an ancient town in China. It was an event open to everyone, and the themes of this Qingmichuan Marathon were inclusivity, positivity, health, and charm. The spirit of this event was expressed by the phrase “One mountain, one river, one stream – a vibrant Qingmichuan”. In the spirit of community participation, we sincerely invite the people of Ningqiang County to join enthusiasts from home and abroad in running with enthusiasm, to enjoy this exciting event and fall in love with the charm of Qingmucun. The 2016 Qingmichuan China’s Most Beautiful Ancient Town Marathon was organized jointly by the Shaanxi Sports Industry Group and the people of Ningqiang County, with the aim of delivering a perfect event to the public and showing them a more beautiful and special version of Qingmichuan. Participants could experience the excitement of marathon running while also creating wonderful memories in this ancient town; as a result, all entrance fees to the scenic area were waived for this event. Adhering to a philosophy of service that emphasizes high standards, rigorous requirements, and excellent quality, this event aims to enable athletes to experience more deeply the spirit of \"one mountain, one river, one stream – the vibrant energy of Aoki River.\" 2 Competition Information (I) Competition Time: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2016 (II) Competition Events: 1. Half Marathon: Half marathon for men and half marathon for women; a total of 600 participants. 2. Sunshine Run (10 km): 10 km for men and 10 km for women; a total of 200 participants. 3. Health Run (5 km): 5 km for men and 5 km for women; a total of 200 participants. 4. Family Run (3 km): 100 groups (3 people per group, with parents and child counted as one group)
The athletes competing in the Qingmuchuan Marathon, one of China’s most beautiful ancient towns, included not only runners from over 60 districts and counties across the country, but also professional athletes from the United States, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Yemen, Algeria, Pakistan, India, Burundi, and other countries. The participation of foreign professional athletes reflects the diversity and international character of this Okigawa Ancient Town Marathon, while also raising the competitive standard of the event. The large number of participants and the wide range of regions they come from further demonstrate the appeal and influence of this competition.
