As the title suggests, what are the respective purposes of adding passivation air and acidic gas to the exhaust gas line before the hydrogenation reactor?
Acidic gas is used to supply hydrogen sulfide during the pre-sulfidization of the hydrogenation catalyst at startup, while air is used to provide oxygen during the passivation of the hydrogenation catalyst at shutdown.
