At the moment, I have steam generated by exothermic reactions at a rate of about 3.5 t/h, with a maximum temperature of 120°C; this steam needs to be recovered. Initially, air coolers were used, and the results were satisfactory. However, during winter when temperatures are low, the heat exchange pipes can freeze and crack if not properly controlled. Moreover, recently many of these heat exchange pipes have developed sand holes that cause leaks (corrosion and material issues are suspected). Now, it is necessary to design a plan that is highly feasible and easy to implement; I would appreciate your advice. (Vent the steam to prevent pressure buildup, otherwise it will affect the drum pressure.) My current idea is to design a device in the form of a wash tower, with the bottom of the tower being circulated by a pump, and circulating water being used to cool down and remove heat. However, there is no specific plan of action.
I’ll just say that I’m not sure either – whether you want to make use of the steam or discharge it after cooling it
The steam needs to be condensed and recovered; it is preferable to keep the temperature at 80 degrees Celsius. It is required that the steam drum not experience pressure buildup during steam recovery
You mentioned two issues: 1) Recovery and reuse of low-pressure waste steam; 2) Equipment corrosion issue. For the first issue, it is necessary to take into account both the need to avoid pressure buildup and the requirement to make full use of low-pressure steam; the solution you came up with is not the best one ; The second issue may be due to the strong corrosiveness of condensate water, which is related to boiler water treatment and air presence in the steam system; it may also be associated with cavitation. The steam you have can be used for low-temperature waste heat power generation; after electricity is generated by the ORC unit, the temperature drops automatically, which also generates benefits. Please contact me at 15077888059
