There is a bit too much foam; apart from adding an antifoaming agent, are there any other effective solutions?

That’s for sure; every type of equipment has its own scope of application as well as advantages and disadvantages. Otherwise, other foam removal devices would have no chance of being used
As winter approaches, foam formation is quite common in biological systems, making foam elimination a challenge. Common methods include the use of antifoaming agents, vegetable and mineral oils, mechanical stirring, and spraying; however, these are usually used in combination, as relying on just one method does not guarantee good results
The foam problem is more prominent in winter. Here, we use mist spraying; a low-power centrifugal pump is installed in the final sedimentation tank (where the water quality is relatively clear), with nozzles arranged on the tank. Also, keep the salt content low, and increase the water temperature appropriately
A combined defoaming method can be used, and the effect will be significant.
Adding defoamers is expensive; Physical defoaming requires equipment ; Hiring a few temporary workers to spread yellow soil on the areas with foam is the most cost-effective solution.
