Dear design experts, when designing pipelines, the boundary for classifying pipeline grades should be determined based on the condition when the valves on the low-pressure (low-temperature) side are closed, in order to ensure the reliability of the materials used in the pipelines. ”How should this sentence be understood?
The grade boundaries should be determined based on severe operating conditions, and the valves at those boundaries should be of the higher grade to ensure safety and reliability.
What this sentence means is that when determining the boundary between high and low pressure based on a certain valve, that valve itself must be selected according to the high-pressure conditions mentioned earlier. This interface is all located on the downstream side of this valve (in the low-pressure area)
The valves at the junctions must be of a higher grade to ensure safety and reliability.
