Are no blind plates installed at the inlet and outlet of the hydrogenation reactor? What is the purpose of installing eight-character blind plates? What are the precautions when removing the catalyst?
We don’t have blind plates installed here; moreover, how could there be 8-shaped blind plates in such a location? First of all, they are too heavy. When loading or unloading the catalyst, it is necessary to remove the connection elbows at the top and bottom, and the outlet pipeline is sealed with a temporary blind flange
Generally, 8-character blind plates are not used for this purpose; firstly, it increases the number of potential leakage points, and secondly, such plates are too heavy. When it’s necessary to replace the catalyst or something similar, the elbow has to be removed first~~~~
In the previous project, blind plates were installed at the inlet and outlet of the hydrogenation reactor, and no valves were provided; the owner considered this to be a form of isolation, which is why it was also not possible to install blind plates there
