In the 13th edition of the List of Hazardous Chemical Processes Subject to Stringent Supervision, among the basic safety requirements for polymerization processes, there is one stipulation that \"high-pressure polymerization reactors must be equipped with explosion-proof walls and blast relief surfaces\", etc. Is it also necessary to install such features if the reactor is mounted on a frame?

Now we don’t design it in compartments, but on a steel frame; this issue was raised by experts during the safety review. Is it mandatory? How should we reply?

The concept of an explosion-proof wall originates from clause 3.3.5 of GB 50016; its purpose is to ensure the personal safety of people when offices and rest rooms are located adjacent to factories of categories A and B. So for the project you mentioned, since the polymerization reactor is not located adjacent to offices, rest rooms, or control rooms, and it is already part of the frame structure, there is no need to install explosion-proof walls.
