DC-DC power modules are available in various packaging forms; they not only meet international standards but also comply with domestic requirements, and thus need to be selected based on general principles. When selecting a power module package, the following three tasks need to be carried out. First, under certain power conditions, it is necessary to ensure that the size is as small as possible. During the packaging process, a reduction in volume means an increase in space, thereby providing more room for other parts of the system and ensuring the integrity of its functions. Second, when choosing packaging, we should try to select products that meet international standards. Since international standards are designed for manufacturers and requirements across the globe, they are quite stringent, resulting in good compatibility. Furthermore, there are many manufacturers around the world that adopt this standard, providing a wider range of choices when selecting suppliers, which does not lead to any limitations in selection. Third, when choosing a packaging solution, attention should be paid to scalable products to facilitate the future expansion and upgrading of the system. While meeting international requirements, the packaging methods widely used in industry today are half-brick and full-brick packaging. These two packaging methods are fully compatible with internationally renowned brands such as Vicor and Lambda. Generally, the power range of half-brick products in the international market is 50 W/200 W, while that of full-brick products is 100 W/300 W, which can meet the requirements of domestic as well as most international products. In the process of selecting a packaging for the power module of a DC-DC converter, it is generally easy to find a suitable packaging format as long as two prerequisites are met: adherence to international standards and meeting scalability requirements.
