What are the respective operating conditions for the pipes specified in GB 12771 and GB 14976? Are there clear boundaries for the pressure range applicable to these two types of pipes? Seeking advice, thanks!
Welded pipes are not recommended for pressures above 10 MPa, nor are they suitable for media with extremely high hazards
14976 refers to seamless pipes, while 12771 refers to welded pipes. Whether seamless pipes or welded pipes should be used in engineering projects depends on factors such as the properties of the medium being transported, as well as pressure and temperature. Generally, for reasons of rational design and cost efficiency, seamless pipes are used for sizes below DN300, while welded pipes are used for sizes above 300. Both standards come in metric and imperial versions, that is, what we commonly refer to as outer diameter series A and B.
