I have a question: Is the ball valve supplied with it fully open or fully closed? What are the advantages of each, and for what types of ball valves are they used?
The standard specifies full open, except for actuators equipped with a spring-close function
I think it should be supplied with the cover fully in place, to prevent the spherical sealing surface from being damaged during transportation, which could lead to poor sealing
Ball valves are shipped in fully open condition, while gate valves and stop valves are shipped in fully closed condition.
The ball valve is fully open – seems there’s no room for discussion on this?
The ball valve is supplied in the fully open position, as specified in the product standards as well. The main purpose is to prevent damage to the sphere itself caused by external substances before the product is installed, which could lead to seal failure. There are also some types such as multi-channel ball valves and air-actuated ball valves; in such cases, special measures must be taken to provide necessary protection for the surface of the ball inside the channel.
