Molten potassium hydroxide at a temperature of 390°C and a pressure of 0.3 MPa is sufficient. Previously, eccentric ball valves made of Monel material were used, but they leaked easily; upon disassembly, it was found that slight wear on the sealing surfaces caused poor sealing. Melting alkalis cause severe corrosion of stainless steel; pure nickel is a better choice, but nickel is too soft, which leads to greater wear when used in valves. The question now is what material to use? What type of valves are suitable? Experts with relevant experience, please give some advice. Thank you!
It is recommended to use ball valves made of 2520 austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel, as they offer much better resistance to heat and corrosion
