Previously, wear-resistant cast stone ball valves were used on site, but problems such as the sealing rings breaking apart and the valves getting stuck occurred; in some cases, the bolts even broke. There was no significant wear in the valve passages. Previously, the valve pressure was PN64. It belongs to the medium-high pressure category. Now, there is a plan to replace it with a hard-sealed hemispherical valve, but there should be a better solution. I would like to ask the experts here: are there any better alternatives? Thank you

Under no circumstances should hard-sealed hemispherical valves be chosen. When a hemispherical valve is fully open, its sealing surface is completely exposed to the erosion caused by the slurry, which can easily damage the sealing surface; if the valve is eccentric, slurry particles may get stuck on the sealing surface. Using a clamp valve to convey slurry is also an option, but the challenge lies in the need to replace the rubber gaskets regularly, and the frequency of such replacements is quite high!
Ball valves all have the issue of cavities; once impurities get into these cavities, scratching will occur on the ball during subsequent opening and closing operations, and over time leakage problems will arise. As you mentioned, this can also cause the valve to get stuck, and the seal ring breaking apart is likely due to this same reason. Yankuang Guotai uses plug valves, but it seems they differ a bit from those used in your application
