Can it be installed with such defects on the flange?
It’s a quality issue on the part of the equipment manufacturer; installation is possible, but I won’t sign for it if it’s not fixed.
This is of the Xiuzhen type, right? It seems to be traces from flanging cutting; an ultrasound check is needed. If it’s only on the surface, it can be used after repair, but if it’s deeper, it will need to be treated.
The depression at point a is a defect resulting from external forces acting on the surface, while the fine line at point b may be a defect inherent to the flange itself. It is recommended to perform flaw detection on area B, and only restoration is needed for area A.
This is the flange made by your factory itself, right? It’s impossible for the manufacturer to let such a product leave the factory.

This is the connecting flange for the rotary kiln cylinder; it isn’t forged as a single piece but is assembled from steel plates. I’m not sure if its strength is sufficient
